1st Assignment

Select five advertisements, either on-line, print or
billboards (but select at least one of each - scan print ads, photograph
billboards, download computer ads). Analyze each ad according to design
criteria from Mediapedia (specifically pages 112-121)- post images and
commentary to your blog.

Arrangement: Symmetrical
Additional: white spacesize the car is small within the frame, direction - going from left to right.

Symmetrical or asymmetrical: Asymmetrical " because the visual relationships are not optically predictable"
Strong direction from top left to bottom right. Position of the man at the right.

3. caption: "The more you drink, the slower you react"

Structure: uses graduated structure
The arrangement is asymmetrical in layout.
Strong direction from front towards back. Contrast from black to white to black. Mirroring and Repitition is also used to suggest blurry vision/incoherency when drinking and driving.

Very symmetrical
other elements: Grouping, white space and Position enable candies to look like a keyboard which is central to the ad.

 5. Anti -Tobacco Ad


Font: San Serif
Structure:  Concrete
arrangement: symmetrical
additional elements: repetition. grouping: also the empty space to resonate more.
